Kurarin Vintage shop guide

A local Japanese vintage clothing lover introduces Japanese vintage shops. I visited second clothing stores in various regions and recommend the best ones.

I tried to replace the genuine specification sole of Dr. Martens made in England at Kutsushoten!

I asked for the second sole replacement at Kutsushoten, which replaces the genuine specification rubber sole of Dr. Martens. Sole exchange was possible even with an old British Dr. Martens!

Kutsushoten – Shoe repair, duplicate key and cylinder replacement shop in Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya and Fukuoka. Please leave anything to do with shoes or keys.

First, a comparison photo before and after replacement. Dr. Martens on the left is a sole replacement. It's made by Airwair, but judging from the engraving and silhouette, it was made in England in the early 90's.

Model with steel toe.

Comparing the current 8 holes (right) and the round steel toe (left) gives a different impression.

I bought it at 2nd Street in Sapporo for about 3000 yen. It was cheap because the sole was tattered. Sole exchange is 6090 yen including shipping. In total, for about 10,000 yen, I got a new sole and a well-worn Dr. Martens.

The heel, which is the easiest to scrape, and the heel part are very worn.

It was shaved enough to expose the air part of the sole.

Cospa is good to replace with genuine Dr. Martens sole

When I returned it, it was packed more carefully than when I sent it.

Oh! The sole has been replaced very neatly!

The size is also perfect. I was worried that the old vintage Dr. Martens would not fit, but the sole was successfully replaced. I am really grateful that I can replace the sole of the genuine specification even if it is old.

Rubber sole made of Kutsushouten, which is so perfect that you can't tell at first glance. It is produced in-house, and it is the only one in Japan that can replace the genuine specification sole of Dr. Martens.

Whether the toes are sharpened and rounded or not, the appearance of the shoes changes.

The thickness of the sole has been fully restored, making it easier to walk.

Sole thickness such as toe is almost the same.

The soles of old vintage Dr. Martens can come off, so be careful. This vintage was also partially peeled off, so I'm glad I was able to replace the sole. I have glued it myself, but it was difficult to glue the rubber sole of Dr. Martens firmly even with shoe glue, so I could not repair it by myself.

A voluminous silhouette that goes well with skinny pants. It's not made in white, and looking at the logo on the sole, it's not old, but it's a 30-year-old model, so you could say it's a newer vintage Dr. Martens.

There is a way to replace the sole with a vibram, etc., but Kutsushoten can handle the replacement of the gum sole that is typical of Dr. Martens.

I also made a comparison video before and after the sole. You can see that it is quite beautiful, so I would appreciate it if you could refer to it.
