Where can I find cheap second-hand football shirtss and game shirts?
Football shirtss are sold mainly at five types of stores. Recently, with the rise in popularity of the secondhand clothing industry, the terms "game shirt" and "football T-shirt" have become common, but I'm not the only one who finds them strange, as they are terms that are rarely used in soccer. And they're not really T-shirts after all (lol)
Sports shop that sells new products
Soccer Shop KAMO, Sports Xebio, official shops of J.League teams, etc. They mainly sell the latest season's uniforms. Since they sell genuine products, you can buy European League club team uniforms with peace of mind. Many football shirtss sold on Mercari and other sites are counterfeits.
Secondhand shops such as Secast and Torefac (very cheap)
Recycle shops such as Second Street and Treasure Factory. Trefac Sports, which specializes in sports, has a lot of football shirtss. Local recycle shops also have old uniforms lying dormant, which makes it interesting to look at them. In areas where soccer is particularly popular, many people bring them in to be sold, so it seems like it's easy to find bargains. Flea markets in Shizuoka and Urawa were also interesting.
If you're looking for football shirtss, you should definitely visit recycle shops such as Second Street, Book Off Super Bazaar, King Family, Off House, and Whatman. Football shirtss don't have much value as second-hand clothing, so you might come across one occasionally. It's hard to gauge their value as second-hand clothing or as a collector's item, and they're a niche item with little demand, so it's rare to find one at a bargain price. The large Super Second Street stores in Atsugi and Kashiwa also have a lot of sports goods and are well worth a look.
The football shirts section at BOOKOFF SUPER BAZAAR Tsunashima Tarumachi store is famous in the area. They have strengthened their selection and have a large selection of J.League uniforms.
Football shirts specialty store
They have a wide selection of collector's items, including autographed and markable items, framed items, and game-worn uniforms. They have an overwhelmingly larger selection than other stores, and you can even find items from minor teams. Many of the items are in good condition, and the prices are accordingly high, but there seem to be some great bargains hidden in the sale section and the B-grade section. You can purchase authentic items with confidence.
Secondhand clothing store, vintage shop, secondhand clothing warehouse
It's a typical second-hand clothing store. If the owner is a soccer fan, they tend to stock football shirtss. As it's a second-hand clothing store that mainly sells vintage items, it's easy to find old uniforms. They have long been available in vintage shops that cater to soccer fans. I get the impression that European vintage stores in particular tend to stock Premier League teams.
I've been noticing a lot of secondhand clothing stores selling football shirtss that source their goods through Mercari. A little research into rare items will reveal their origins. I've had the experience of selling something I sold on Mercari being sold at a secondhand clothing store introduced in this article. Since all secondhand clothing is resold in the first place, I think it's fine to source from Mercari, but I don't like stores that hide that fact and say they source their goods from overseas or that they buy them.
Recently, the number of second-hand clothing stores that carry a lot of football shirtss has increased dramatically, likely because they are trendy. A few years ago, there were almost no second-hand clothing stores in Shimokitazawa or Amemura that carried football shirtss.
There has been a significant increase in second-hand clothing stores, including large chains, that sell large quantities of modern uniforms. These are often purchased in bulk, known as bales, and it is necessary to carefully examine the condition of the items. The prints may be tattered, torn, or missing patches, or they may even be fakes or imitation items (bootlegs).
There are so many of them that if you dig around, you might find at least one old one, which was the case in the early days of uniform fashion, but you don't see that at all these days.
Second-hand shops that only have a moderate selection of football shirtss sometimes sell counterfeits as authentic or vintage. The most common counterfeits are those from the 1990s, such as United, the England national team, and the 1998 Japan national team. The surge in popularity of vintage uniforms has led to the emergence of many new counterfeits, such as those from Manchester City and Tottenham. Online shops, Mercari, pop-up shops (occasionally cheap)
There are individuals who don't have a store, but who sell football shirtss exclusively online, through Instagram accounts, etc. I've been selling vintage items on Mercari for many years. Most of them sell online, but some also sell in pop-up shops. At events run by popular accounts, there can be a line of more than 100 people.
If you're only looking at price, you can buy uniforms at the lowest price on sites like Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions, which are private transactions. However, you'll need to be able to discern the best deals. Most items on flea market apps are counterfeits, so be careful. If you keep your eye out, you might even come across a vintage uniform being sold at an incredible price.
Beware of fake and counterfeit football shirtss!
If you are purchasing from a non-official store (such as an Adidas store or KAMO), be careful of counterfeit goods. It is said that most football shirtss sold outside of official stores are fakes, and there are a large number of fake uniforms for sale on Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions in particular.
We often see counterfeit goods being sold alongside genuine products at the stores introduced in this article and on Instagram. To be honest, it seems that most second-hand clothing stores sell items without checking whether they are genuine or not. A pop-up on an Instagram account dealing in football shirtss also showed counterfeit goods being sold as genuine. Bene is one of the shops that sparked the trend of vintage soccer items. Excluding fan goods, among the second-hand clothing stores that sell football shirtss, it is one of the most overseas second-hand clothing stores where the owner actually sources the items locally. They basically only sell authentic vintage items, so they are very trustworthy. They spend much of the year in the local area, watching lower league games in the Premier League, and have a deep knowledge of soccer culture.

Vintage Sport Football (Vintage Sports) Tokyo Shibuya Machida Kichijoji
This is truly Japan's leading football shirts specialty store. They have three stores in Kichijoji, Shibuya, and Machida. The inventory and quality are top class in Japan. Nicknamed Vinspo, no other store has a larger selection of football shirtss than this one, so you can't go wrong here. They also have an online shop.
Large second-hand clothing warehouses and second-hand clothing wholesale warehouses
I have also found football shirtss and jerseys at West Coast Secondhand Clothing Warehouse and 3peace Secondhand Clothing Wholesale Warehouse. I also go to several secondhand clothing wholesalers to purchase items for resale, but they rarely have a large selection of football shirtss. I still haven't found a secondhand clothing wholesaler that carries a large number of football shirtss. I guess I'll just have to keep searching patiently.

Used clothing wholesale warehouse 3peace (Three Piece) / Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture
I've been to a secondhand clothing warehouse a few times to stock up on things. Three Piece is a secondhand clothing store in Chigasaki, Center Kita, and other areas of Kanagawa Prefecture. It's open to the public. Prices have gone up from before, but there are still some items available. It's rare to find soccer items, but when you do, they're cheap. They promote game shirts as a secondhand clothing category, and have a lot of basketball, baseball, and American football uniforms, but not many football shirtss. I once found a store with a large stock of football shirtss, and I bought about 100 of them. The selling price is the same as wholesale, but you need to spend a minimum of 5,000 yen. You'll fall in love with this secondhand clothing store just from the name. And the top banner on the website is a slam dunk! It moved from Yoyogi-Hachiman to Harajuku in 2024. It's just a few minutes' walk from Harajuku Station.

A vintage soccer pop-up by brand_konaka. An impressive collection of Manchester City uniforms. Numbered tickets were distributed from 11am, and free entry was granted by lottery around 3pm. The store continued to operate with limited entry after that, and was a huge success. There was a huge selection of soccer items and vintage uniforms, and it was well worth the long wait.

Osaka. A two-floor second-hand clothing store near Honmachi Station. Just a short walk from the station. It sits quietly in an area lined with multi-tenant buildings. The store is on the second and third floors of the building.

The store mainly carries European vintage items, but also has a good selection of American casual staples. What I personally really like is the selection of sports brands from the 80s to 90s. The third floor is a warehouse that is sometimes open to the public. Sales are held several times a year.

It has a chaotic atmosphere like a thrift store in the suburbs of America. However, it is filled with treasures of vintage second-hand clothing. There are both men's and women's items. While recycled clothing like Uniqlo and GU is sold for 100 yen, there is also a wide variety of vintage clothing on display, costing tens of thousands of yen. It is an interesting store.
The density of the inventory is insane. There are so many hangers that they don't even fit on the racks, and the shelves are piled high with US-made Levi's jeans that you hesitate to touch them. There is some very valuable second-hand clothing, so when you come to see it, handle it with care and be sure to speak to the owner so that he can bring out what you're looking for.
They have a wide variety of genres, including streetwear like vintage Stüssy, high-end women's brands, American casual secondhand clothing like Brooks Brothers, and vintage sportswear like Adidas. The price range for regular secondhand clothing is usually around 3,000 to 8,000 yen, but there is also a wide range of vintage items.

I love vintage soccer-related items, and I really like the selection at this store. It's a select shop that produces original soccer-related products. When I visited, customers and staff were chatting while watching high school soccer videos, and I thought it was an incredibly great store.
There are rows of cleats and old soccer goods from the 90s. And Okinawa's best vintage soccer corner. I want them all, like the Yugoslavia away uniform from the 1998 France World Cup, Bayern Munich uniforms from the 90s, and uniforms from overseas club teams I've never seen before. Most are around 5,000 to 8,000 yen. The original brand selection is priced between 5,000 and 15,000 yen.
Si8 (Shippa) Okinawa
A vintage clothing store with high quality and low prices. Mainly American casual wear. They also have some kids' and women's items, but most of the items are for men. The name Shippa apparently means "stubborn" in the old Okinawan dialect.
It's close to Ukishima Street and just a short walk from Kokusai Street. It's located halfway up a very steep hill. There are lots of cats around the shop, probably because of the Makishi Public Market. The shop isn't very large, but it's a second-hand clothing store with good value for money.

What I personally love is that they have a wide selection of vintage football shirtss. They have a wide selection of cool retro uniforms and jerseys from the 90s. It's a unique second-hand clothing store that really conveys the love for soccer. It's super cool. I love it.
Anorakcity Störe (Anorak City Store) Sapporo
Sapporo. It is located in one room of a multi-tenant building that houses many unique shops. The multi-tenant building "Château Reve" has small shops in each room.

Product tags are carefully labeled with detailed descriptions, and you can feel the love that goes into each and every item. They have standard second-hand clothing, but what makes Anorak City unique is their outdoor vintage items. They have a wide selection of classic Euro brand items, such as mountain parkas. This hidden gem is also well worth a look, with Royal Mail goods and vintage football shirtss. Prices range from around 5,000 to 15,000 yen.

According to our own research, this is apparently the smallest second-hand clothing store in Hokkaido. It is certainly small, but the quality of the second-hand clothing is high. They mainly carry regular second-hand men's clothing, but they also have a number of unusual selections. There is a great selection of outdoor and soccer vintage items, which the owner loves. Prices range from around 5,000 to 15,000 yen.
