Kurarin Vintage shop guide

A local Japanese vintage clothing lover introduces Japanese vintage shops. I visited second clothing stores in various regions and recommend the best ones.

Gunma prefecture biggest! ? I went to a second-hand clothing store, Old Fashion!

Gunma prefecture strongest! ? I went to a second-hand clothing store, Old Fashion!

An old fashion store in Shibukawa City, northern Gunma Prefecture. The store has a tremendous amount of stock and an atmosphere like a second-hand clothing wholesale warehouse. You might think that most of them are recycled used clothes, but this is a hidden famous store where you can find items such as the former Japanese military, Japanese National Railways setups, and US Levi's. I actually went there. It also shows the purchase price.

Old Fashioned Hours, Location, Access & Parking

Located along Route 25 (Takasaki Shibukawa Line), the old hand-painted sign stands out.

There is a general recycle shop Wonderex nearby.

Closed only on Mondays.

Open from 10:00 to 18:30.

There is a free parking lot in front of the store for about 3 cars.

Used clothes pile up! Inside the store

Enter. If you're not used to second-hand clothes warehouses, you'll be terrified of what the inside of this store looks like. I was skeptical that they were open, so I went in and asked them if they were open.

The store looks like a used clothing wholesale warehouse, but since it is an ordinary used clothing store for the general public, there is no minimum purchase amount (minimum).

The overwhelming amount of material. I don't know where the passage is anymore (laughs)

Do not wear shoes inside the store.

Change into the provided slippers.

The two owners are very friendly, and usually sit on something like a massage chair at the cash register or work in the back. If you ask if there is something you are looking for, they will look for it together. Hanging on the wall is Special Vintage, Edo period clothes for 80,000 yen.

There is a restroom at the back of the store.

A treasure trove of used clothes, from Japanese clothes to party dresses

Anyway, the amount of inventory is terrible. It's piled up. The racks are so tightly packed that the hangers bend, making it difficult to take out the clothes (laughs)

There are many women's clothes. Sequins and glitter party dresses, fur? fur? There are also many second-hand clothes that can be used as stage costumes for live performances, such as coats. It's hard to find a store that sells old clothes like flashy clothes around here.

Woman, the corner where women's underwear is piled up is no longer a wall.

In the back of the store, there are many old Japanese clothes such as Japanese clothes, kimonos, and Japanese clothes. The price is about 1,000 yen, so it's a good second-hand clothing store to find materials for remakes of old clothes, Japanese patterns, and Japanese clothing.

We also found a workwear, like a happi coat. Tajima construction company. Good fabric and in good condition. I think it was about 2,500 yen.

There are many party dresses hanging on the wall. A pile of old clothes that have not yet been put out for sale.

Mostly second-hand Japanese clothes from the 70s to 90s, and many regular second-hand clothes from Asia

I have the impression that women's clothing is 30%, Japanese clothing is 20%, men's clothing is 20%, and others are 20%.

Since it is roughly divided into genres and items, it looks chaotic and is surprisingly easy to read.

You can find more and more retro and classic clothes. There are many current recycled used clothes from the 90s to 00s, but more than half are regular used clothes from the 00s and before.

Even if you're looking for women's clothing, you'll find Japanese vintage items from the 80s and 90s. Patterned blouses from the time are popular as retro second-hand clothes.

Umbrellas, furs and fur coats.

Lots of stadium jackets.

We also sell accessories and prevention around the cash register. There were also American and British berets.

A hanging scroll? There are also scrolls.

Old men's clothes, suit setups, leather jackets, and other used clothes like mountains

There are many men's clothes such as coats, suits, and setups. There are second-hand clothing stores that sell old 80s Japanese suit setups for over 10,000 yen, and if you have a good eye for remakes, this area is likely to be a target for purchase.

Slacks and pants around the 80s are piled up to the wall. Most of them are 1,000 yen or 1,500 yen, but if you look for them, you can find high-quality men's clothing of the time made of fine wool and elaborately sewn. There are many straight silhouettes, but there are many thick silhouettes such as two-tucks, and when you actually wear them, they flare a little and give you a nice retro feel. There are also many colored slacks with flares and boot cuts.

Slacks from Chichibu Railway are here! If there was a jacket, I wanted to buy it, but the owner also searched for it, but I couldn't find it. JR's jersey? I also had gym clothes.

Sukiya uniform? (laughs)

I also have quite a few coats. There is also a leather coat.

Leather jackets are piled up, heavy and hard to dig! There are also double leather coats with high design and sheepskin in good condition.

Found Levi's made in 90s USA for 1500 yen! There are also military and old clothes from the former Japanese National Railways!

Most of the military items are repros or reprints, but there are some 90s American military items mixed in, and I found a bargain. A US navy shirt is 1,000 yen.

Dig and find things.

We also found some American made 90s Levis. About 1,000 to 1,500 yen.

The owner told me that the denim is on the far back wall of the store, so I went into the interior. No place to step. Proceed cautiously (no longer explore)

I found a wall of vintage denim in the depths of my kimono.

Finally dug up! ! American Levi's 501 from the early 90s. Moreover, it is dark blue and almost dead stock! The inner tag is also crispy, maybe it hasn't been washed? It was 1,500 yen.

Video taken while digging for used clothes

I also shot a second-hand clothes digging video at Old Fashion. It's easier to understand the price of each product and the atmosphere of second-hand clothes handled than the blog article, so please refer to it.
