Kurarin Vintage shop guide

A local Japanese vintage clothing lover introduces Japanese vintage shops. I visited second clothing stores in various regions and recommend the best ones.

I made a general visit to Funabashi's used clothes warehouse "Billy of Used Clothes"! Wholesale of vintage LEVI'S denim pants!

I made a general visit to Funabashi's used clothes warehouse "Billy of Used Clothes"!

A used clothes warehouse in Funabashi that became a hot topic on YouTube. There is a ridiculous amount of inventory, and it has become a pile of used clothes. Basically, it is a wholesale second-hand clothing store, but general purchases are also possible, so I actually went there. Introducing used clothes and price range.

Secondhand Billy location, directions, access, parking

Originally, it seems that it has been around for about 40 years, and it is a famous shop in the industry of denim, American casual clothes, and vintage lovers. Especially in the American denim neighborhood such as Levi's, employees of domestic denim manufacturers also come to shop.

The location is a few minutes walk from Nishi-Funabashi Station. The address is 658 Hongocho, Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture 273-0033.

The owner manages almost all by himself, and he talks about various things in a friendly manner. It's fun to smoke together in front of the warehouse.

There is no parking lot, but you can park about 2 cars in front of the warehouse.

Used Billy can be visited and purchased

If you plan to visit the public, it is better to call in advance. The phone number is 070-3893-4027.

Although the owner is friendly, it is better to let the owner know in advance if you would like to visit, as there are conflicts with other wholesalers and second-hand clothing stores. There is no minimum (minimum purchase amount) for purchasing general store visits, and you can buy even one item.

It is OK to contact us on the day or just before, if you call us, we will be happy to meet you. You may be able to get in without making an appointment, but it is uncertain, so we strongly recommend calling in advance.

Irregular holidays, so you should check the business hours. Generally around 12:00 to 20:00. When visiting, wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, wear a mask, and work gloves if you want to dig. It's pretty dusty, so your hands get dirty. Military and 2nd floor are pitch black, so you need a flashlight. Drinking water is essential as it is hot like a sauna in summer. Just being inside makes me sweat a lot.

Interior of second-hand Billy's shop

This is a two-story, maze-like second-hand clothes warehouse in the back. If you go there for the first time, the owner will guide you through the whole process.

In the immediate vicinity of the entrance, you'll find US-made Levi's and special vintage items from around the 40s.

A rack with denim on the wall.

Denim arranged by YouTuber BbyC. It is very easy to see. Thank you!

A system where you can find the price by looking for the number attached to the curing tape in the notebook managed by the owner.

Go through a corridor that is mostly a curtain of old clothes.

The next room is lined with old slacks such as Levi's staples and American casual vintage children's clothing. There are also small items such as flashers.

Staple had some models from the era of stamps in pockets without inner tags. There are many individuals whose fasteners are collapsed, so it is necessary to check.

If you turn right at the hot water supply room where Nike and Adidas sneakers are casually placed, you will reach the denim corner.

There are beautiful things, there are sneakers that are hydrolyzed and collapsed, and there are sneakers that have only one side in the first place.

Although my eyes go to the mountain of old clothes, American posters and fixtures are also cool.

Pile of vintage denim

A pile of American-made vintage denim, which is also Billy's main item. It hasn't been washed in 30 years, so it's dirty! There is a note that says (laughs)

The pile of denim has collapsed and there is almost no passage.

Anyway, I have tons of denim jackets and jeans.

Beyond the window was a semi-outdoor warehouse, which was also piled up with clothes.

It seems that there are also fakes (laughs)

On the other side were some regular used clothes, such as jackets.

Levi's and Lee are common, but there are also store brands and non-brands.

There are also quite a few denim jackets.

There are also a few boots and mountain parkas.

Vintage sneakers you can only find one of! ?

There are also quite a few sneakers, but you should check their condition.

I found Adidas sambas, but they were all in pieces, and I only found one of the three.

Lots of used military clothing

If you go further, there is a military corner. There is no electricity, so you need a flashlight. I can see it even with the light of my iPhone.

Not only American but also European military items can be seen. There are no special vintage items, but the impression is that you can find some standard items here and there.

There were many heavy clothing such as wool-based items and coats.

There was a pile of US navy sailor baggy denim.

If you look closely, you'll see a jukebox.

Second floor is a swamp of old clothes

On the other side of the military room is a staircase that will take you up to the second floor. There is no electricity, so you need a flashlight. A pile of old clothes is piled up in a pool-like box partitioned with plywood. The height is about 150 cm to 200 cm, and those who wish can go to the back.

Where can I actually buy second-hand clothing and what is the price?

I didn't take the time to look at it, but I took a quick look. After all, it is fun to dig this masterpiece. There is a pleasure that cannot be obtained at ordinary second-hand clothing stores.

Levi's was not only made in the US, but there were also many Euro Levi's and 80s made in Asia. There are many around 70s to 90s. There are more models in the 600s and unknown details than standard models such as 501 and 505. The price range is roughly around 10,000 to 30,000 yen. If you look for it, you'll find denim from the 40s and 50s from store brands and minor brands, but the number is small.

Some specimens are poorly preserved, with broken zips and severe rust. Basically all the price tags are not attached, so please consult us. The cardboard box says US Levi's is 2,000 to 4,000 yen, but when I asked about the price, it seems that it's basically over 10,000 yen.

There are many military items, but I got the impression that there were a lot of heavy clothing that is difficult to use in Japan and items that are not standard. There were no popular US M-65 coats or French M-47s. However, since there are items that I have never seen before, it is interesting to dig.

The store, Dig, and used clothing that they sell

I also shot a video, so please check it out. It's not fun at all if you go to a regular second-hand clothing store, so if you think of it as a second-hand clothing entertainment facility and prepare properly, you should be able to enjoy it.

There are a few YouTube videos filmed with second-hand Billy, but below is a video that gives you an idea of the atmosphere of the store, especially the brand and age of the vintage items.
