. Among these, only Wide Haiter and Oxyclean are recommended. Other methods may not remove the yellowing of the sole in the first place, and may cause damage or discoloration because they are not intended for clothing.
There is also information that it comes off with nail polish remover, but I don't recommend it. Scrubbing with nail polish remover will surely remove the dirt. The surface of the rubber will be a little cleaner, but it will not be as beautiful as the wide highter. And the fabric may hurt. Never use nail polish remover on leather items such as Converse, as it will cause discoloration and damage to the leather. Also, if you use nail polish remover, the paint on the sole may melt.
Converse doesn't have it, but by the way, if it's a coating type like Dr. Martens, nail polish remover is more effective. Dr. , stain remover, stitch] - Travel Kurarin
There are other ways to use an eraser or a melamine sponge like Gekiochi-kun, but the yellowing of the sole will not come off even if you rub it. It is more effective to soak the wide-hiter than rubbing.
Wide Haiter and Oxyclean are for clothing, so you can use them with confidence and remove yellowing properly.
Never substitute alkaline detergents. Recommended only for wide hikers.
If you use an alkaline detergent, the detergent left in the fabric of the sneaker reacts with sunlight (ultraviolet rays) and further yellows. If you don't have a wide haiter at home and you're using an alkaline detergent as a substitute because it's troublesome, you should definitely stop. Once the sneakers have been washed with an alkaline detergent, they become almost irreversibly yellow and dirtier than they were before washing. After all, a neutral detergent or a weakly acidic Wide Haiter is best.
And there are people who regret using alkaline detergents even though they have recommended only Wide Haiter so far. Be careful.
Soak the shoelaces in wide haiter
First, put the dirty shoelaces aside and soak them in wide-hiter.
How to remove yellowing from Jack Purcell soles
Prepare a wide haiter and kitchen paper. Personally, the point is to use this kitchen paper.
By pasting kitchen paper soaked with Wide Haiter, it will penetrate more dirt and make it easier to remove. In addition, it becomes possible to soak for a long time.
Pour the undiluted solution of Wide Haiter into the tub and soak the kitchen paper that matches the size of the sole. If you are stingy here and dilute the undiluted solution, the yellowing will be difficult to remove, so be careful.
It's troublesome, but I recommend sticking it as carefully as possible. Ideally, all surfaces should be covered with kitchen paper soaked in wide-hiter, with no gaps.
I will also paste the side of the sole.
Apply wide heat directly to the dirt on the canvas. Since it is a bleaching agent for clothing, there is no problem even if it is applied directly. However, if you leave it on cotton for a long time, there is a risk of color fading or damage, so let's leave it for about 1 hour at the longest. It is also written on the back of the Wide Haiter that it should not be soaked for more than 2 hours.
Leave it for about 30 minutes, then run the Wide Heater
Leave it for about 30 minutes and peel off the kitchen paper.
Wide Haiter is left on the surface, so use it to remove dirt by rubbing particularly dirty or uneven areas.
The dirt on the canvas fabric is also removed by rubbing and tapping. I do it with my bare hands, but if you touch it directly for a long time, it will roughen your hands, so if you are concerned about it or have sensitive skin, vinyl gloves are recommended.
Dry and finish cleaning! The yellowing of the sole is gone and it's shiny!
Dry in the sun.
You can see that the sole is already clean at this point.
After drying. It's so beautiful that I think the whole color has changed.
Here before removing yellowing with Wide Haiter.
You can see it's getting pretty white.
The ink marks on the canvas also came off.
Even after rubbing on the side of the sole, it disappeared cleanly.
Although some stains cannot be removed, almost all of them are removed.
According to my experience, dirt that cannot be removed with Wide Haiter can only be removed physically with an eraser or file.
Remove dirt on New Balance soles
I tried the same method on the sole dirt and yellowing of New Balance 996 sneakers.
The light yellowing of the sole and the dirt between the wrinkles will not come off even if you rub it.
If you stick a piece of kitchen paper soaked in Wide Haiter, it will fall off immediately.
Jack Purcell's yellowing doesn't come off if he gets a lot of sunburn
Is it oil, the black dirt is terrible, but the yellowing of the sun is also terrible.
It turned out pretty nice. The yellowing was also reduced considerably, but it did not return to pure white. The yellowing is too severe, and it does not come off if time passes after yellowing.
Dirt such as rubbing can be removed by soaking in kitchen paper and rubbing finely with a toothbrush.
Scratches and dirt can be removed cleanly with this method.

Since it is a method of removing yellowing from ABS resin, it is different from the mechanism of removing yellowing from the sole of Converse and Jack Purcell, which are made of different materials, but the method was almost the same.
The point is to expose it to UV light, so the next time I remove the yellowing from the sole of the sneaker, I'll try exposing it to direct sunlight with a piece of kitchen paper soaked in Wide Haiter attached. Maybe the yellowing can be removed more quickly and beautifully.
